# Here are some tips to help you navigate smoothly through your preparation for CLAT 2022.

# First step in this preparation is to carefully check out the syllabus of CLAT from the official source and if possible, check out previous year questions that will act like a lighthouse which will streamline your preparation. You will know what is relevant and what requires more time during preparation.

# Practice as many mocks as possible based on latest pattern to find out your strengths and weaknesses. Time management and consistency is the key. Make a timetable covering all five areas daily and stick to the schedule. Practicing mocks will reveal how much time is required for each section and which section to start with while attempting the paper.

# In CLAT you will have passage based multiple choice questions to test English Language, Current Affairs with General Knowledge, Legal reasoning, Logical reasoning and Quantitative Technique.

# Inculcate the habit of reading good books and newspapers. Write down at least 20 news words that you learnt from that piece of article. Read the editorials and relevant columns to serve three-fold purpose. Your English will improve, you will stay updated with current affairs and of course you will find contemporary legal issues.Copy the relevant portions and save them for reference later.

Tip: One of the strategies that may work is that instead of spending time on reading the complete passage you can start with questions and options followed by that passage so that you do not waste time in reading irrelevant details but focus on only those parts that will help you answer the questions based on that passage. Once you have seen the question your brain will filter out unnecessary details from long passage and you will save time. This may, however, not work all the time. Based on the kind of passage and the kind of questions being asked, one may need to read the passage in its entirety.

# For Legal Reasoning, CLAT does not expect you to know laws in detail but only tests the students’ ability to infer from the given passage using reasoning skills. All the information needed to answer the question is given in the passage. One only needs the ability understand the given information and connect it with the question being asked. It is, however, always good to learn basic laws to get familiar with the kind of passages that one can expect. No matter what the passage is about one should not be distracted by jargon/legal terms being used and should be confident in eliminating the vague and irrelevant options to arrive at the answer. The only way to master this skill is to practice, practice and some more practice

# Quantitative Techniques only covers mathematics till Class 10 level with minimum weightage in Law Entrance Exams. If you are good at math,it’s a bonus and even otherwise there is not much to lose.
